Home buyers eager to buy a house in Colorado Springs know the area has a lot of different neighborhoods. From the painted ladies of Old Colorado City to the suburban sprawl of Powers, it’s hard to narrow the search. HomeSnacks, a housing data site, searched for neighborhoods that rate high for high incomes, low crimes and unemployment, increasing home prices and higher populations (aka amenities). Here’s their list of 10 Colorado Springs neighborhood gems for home buyers.

If you’re looking for size and conveniences, look east to the newer developments. The Powers corridor has a ton of newer shopping and entertainment options, with a wide variety home sizes/prices.
Need great schools? Northgate and Briargate are in the coveted Academy School District 20; these are moderately affordable, mostly tract homes.
You’ll find older, charming homes in Old Colorado City, Northwest Colorado Springs, Central Colorado City, and Northeast Colorado Springs. The Old Colorado City and Central Colorado City areas attract tourists and there’s not much parking. In the Old Colorado City area, south of Cimmaron, there are new home developments. You can find homes, townhomes, lofts and the amenities of city life in Central Colorado City.
For elegant homes, look to Old Colorado Springs and Southwest Colorado Springs. The neighborhoods surrounding The Broadmoor, such as Star Ranch, can get pricey but the views are spectacular. There are a limited number of lots still available for custom homes.
For affordable options, head to Southeast Colorado Springs. This area is convenient for those serving and working at Peterson Air Force Base and the Colorado Springs Airport. The boundaries are E. Platte Ave. to the north (just south of the US Olympic Training Center), S. Academy Blvd. east and south, and Highway 115/87 (Nevada Ave) on the west.
